Advanced Article Writing Techniques Stop Pushing Off Your Keywords
By: Kevin Browne

Hey, you're all set. You writer, you. And to write your next article, you begin by doing some keyword research to see what's hot out there. Great start.

By entering in some generic keyword phrase like "fly fishing," your research (using Overtures Free Tool or others) spits back more and more specific ways to carve your general keyword and make it more specific. After all you're looking for advanced article writing techniques, so you're striving to find smarter and smarter ways to do this. Right?

Okay, now you're research has left you with keywords like "fly fishing in Idaho" or "advanced salt water fly fishing." This is called 'drilling down.' And it's an absolute must.

(Don't forget that keywords can be more than one word. It took me a while for that to really sink in!)

Now, believe it or not, there exists software in cyberland that will then take your more specific keywords, your 'drilled down keywords' and run supply tests against them to see how strong a need there is for that more specific keyword. This is above and beyond what Overture will show you. In this case, maybe the NEED for "advanced salt water fly fishing" greatly outweighs the NEED for the one about Idaho.

Very strong writers who understand this don't even actually 'concept' article ideas MOST OF THE TIME. They can and do simply wake up and switch on their Google supply button and see what they are writing about that day knowing that there is ALREADY a strong demand for that keyword.

Cool, isn't it?

(By the way, using this Google game of supply and demand is one of the surest ways of getting your articles and your site noticed... I teach it all the time, and you SHOULD be doing it!)

So having looked at the supply of your keyword against its Google demand (meaning how often it becomes a natural search) you get a great idea for an article and you're up and running to get started.

Here's where you need to be careful as a writer.

As you being writing your articles, and dropping in that more specific keyword, your writing will have to 'push off' those specific keywords. Meaning the more often you drop in your keywords, the more often you will have to 'push off' your writing to and from those keywords.

Here's the big point...Newer writers tend to call more attention to them than need be. Newer writers 'rely' on these word anchors too much. In essence they use their keywords as crutches and 'write around the crutches.'

And its a very easy trap to fall into.

My suggestion is this...reread your articles a third or a fourth time before you send them in. Try to cleverly push off your keywords using different writing styles. Find better uses of your writing skills to 'cloak your keywords' and make them feel more natural.

Don't push so hard.

It's tricky. But it's fun. And in the end, it's one of advanced article writing techniques I probably use MOST OFTEN.
